How to make an SM/MM Fiber Media Converter with little money.
Time needed: 10 minutes.

- Ingredients:
n. 2 Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter RJ45>to>SFP
n. 1 Crossover RJ45 cable
n. 1 Single-Mode SFP GE 10Km
n. 1 Single-Mode Fiber optic patch cable LC/(xx)
n. 1 Multi-Mode SFP GE 1Km
n. 1 Multi-Mode Fiber optic patch cable LC/(xx)
Some scotch tape - Assembly:
Build the eFMC as shown in the figure above connecting the media converters together through the rj45 cable and plug the fiber! Good luck!
This trick can be used to temporarily solve problems or to regenerate the optical signal on very attenuated links. We recommend that you do not implement this solution in a production environment.
